Group Study Rooms:

To cater the students’ needs of group-study and discussions, while working on group assignments/ projects, the facility of group study rooms is also available at NUST Central library. The facility also helps in keeping the rest of the library sections noise free which facilitates the library users to read and work comfortably.

Standard Operating Procedures For Group Study Rooms

 

1. ​General

  • NUST Central Library has four Group Study Rooms located on ground floor. These rooms have the capacity for eight persons each and a 40 inch LED on the walls along with HDMI cable for display.
  • Faculty members and students can use Group Study Rooms for group study and academic discussion after prior reservation.

2. Reservation / Booking Procedure

  • Group Study Rooms will be reserved online through ​email: [email protected] or in person at Library Reception.
  • Rooms will be reserved free of cost on first come first served basis for minimum 30 minutes and maximum 2 hours per day.
  • Online reservation status can be seen on a web portal: http://srs.cl.nust.edu.pk/

3. Instructions for Use

  • A group must be composed of four to eight members, however, at least one of the member have to be NUST student or faculty member who would be responsible for conduct of the group.
  • The group representative must arrive at the reception at least 5 minutes before the booked time along with his/her NUST ID card, library staff will unlock the room and they will go to the allocated room.
  • If a group does not show up within 15 minutes of reserved time, the reservation will be cancelled and the room will be allotted to the next group in line.
  • Please be considerate of others and reserve no more time than is actually needed. The Group Study Rooms are in high demand and reservation must be cancelled if there is a change of plan and space is not needed.
  • Maintain a moderate volume of discussion as rooms are not soundproof, and loud discussion would disturb other users in adjoining rooms and outside rooms.
  • Personal belongings should not be left unattended in the Group Study Rooms at any time; the Library is not responsible for loss of personal belongings.
  • If there are any belongings left in the allocated room, please contact Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Central Library or call 051-90851088. The Lost and Found is located at the Circulation Desk.
  • Please use LED Display and other equipment in Group Study Rooms carefully, the occupant will be responsible for any damages to electronic and other equipment.
  • Properly handover the room to the library staff before leaving.
  • Please contact Help Desk or Reception on ground floor for any information or question.

Seminar Hall:

A state of the art Seminar Hall is available in the library where training and orientation sessions are conducted for students of NUST. Apart from this, library also conducts conferences and workshops of national and international level in this hall.​​

Standard Operating Procedures For ​Seminar Hall

1. General

  • NUST Central Library has a Seminar Hall located on ground floor having seating capacity for 48 participants. This hall has a multimedia projector, screen, sound system and computer.
  • Seminar Hall will be primarily used for Library related seminars / workshops and orientation sessions.
  • Faculty members and students may also use the Seminar Hall for academic / research purposes on prior reservation and permission of the Chief Librarian or designated Library Officer /Staff as per the prescribed procedure.

2. Reservation / Booking Procedure

  • The Seminar Hall is reserved on first-come, first-served basis, if not required by the Central Library.
  • Seminar Hall will be reserved on Central Library Reception in person, by phone (051-90851088) or through email ([email protected]​).
  • Seminar Hall will be reserved during working hours (0900 to 1700 hrs).
  • Seminar Hall will be reserved for a maximum of four hours per day unless needed for school or university event.
  • Please cancel reservation if hall is not needed, well in time.

3.Instructions

  • Seminar Hall will not be used for individual or Group Study.
  • The organizers must arrive at Reception at least 5 minutes before the booked time. If an organizer has reserved Seminar Hall and does not show up within 15 minutes of reserved time, the reservation will be cancelled.
  • Please maintain library discipline. Keep the Seminar Hall door closed. Do not use the hall for performing music groups and loud recorded music or videos. Clapping, shouting and making loud noises is prohibited.
  • Personal belongings should not be left unattended in the Seminar Hall at any time; the Library is not responsible for any loss.
  • If there are any belongings found in the hall, please contact Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Central Library or call 051-90851088. The Lost and Found is located at the Circulation Desk.
  • Please use the equipment in the Seminar Hall carefully. The organizer will be responsible for any type of damages to equipment especially electronic equipment.
  • Please contact Help Desk or Reception on ground floor for any information or question.​
